Noble high-tech components for the highest performance on the road and the race track.
Carbon – once developed for aerospace, the high-strength and super-lightweight material has established itself first in racing and now also in BMW motorcycles. BMW Motorrad uses it wherever the lowest possible weight is required at the highest strengths.
The M Performance carbon wheels for the BMW S 1000 RR are an ideal application for the material processed in a very complex process with high-pressure furnaces – so-called autoclaves. The advantages are obvious: Less weight means lower rotary masses and thus, in addition to improved acceleration and braking behaviour, also optimised handling. In short, the motorcycles are becoming even more agile and dynamic. In addition, the carbon surface covered with high gloss clear varnish impresses with its noble, deep black shimmering structure.
The M Performance carbon wheels for the S 1000 RR are a total of 1.7 kg lighter than the production wheels made of aluminium, which were already reduced by 1.6 kg in weight during the new edition of the two models last year. All parts such as the 5 mm thick brake discs (series: 4.5 mm), sensor rings, wheel bearings and RDC valves are included in the complete wheelset for the price of 3990.-€ (RRP). The M Performance carbon wheels will be available from 1 August 2020.
