• Based on the success of the V4 model, the Ducati Streetfighter family is enriched by the introduction of the new Streetfighter V2 and Streetfighter V4 SP models
• The Streetfighter V2 embodies the essence of the "Fighter" attitude: the new model of the Streetfighter family is the perfect synthesis of daring and essentiality.
• Produced in a numbered series, the top model Streetfighter V4 SP complements the "Fight Formula" with the leading technical solutions of the "SP" models and improves the power-to-weight ratio of the Streetfighter V4 S, which is already at the top of its category.
Borgo Panigale (Bologna, Italy), 11 November 2021 – Ducati is expanding the Streetfighter family with two new models: the wild and purist Streetfighter V2 and the Streetfighter V4 SP, the new top model in the series. All detailed information about the two bikes was revealed in the fourth episode of the Ducati Ducati World Premiere (link to the video presentation here).
The new Streetfighter V2 is a sporty naked bike with a unique character. It meets the needs of riders looking for a motorcycle that combines the sporty DNA of the Panigale V2 with the attitude and style of the highly acclaimed Streetfighters. The result is an intuitive and easy-to-use motorcycle with the right dose of power, ensuring spirited performance and maximum riding pleasure.
In this remarkable reinterpretation of Ducati's successful "Fight Formula", the Panigale V2 was used, which was freed from its fairing. The Stummellenker was replaced by a high and wide handlebar. The dry weight is 178 kg and the motorcycle is powered by the proven Superquadro engine with 955 cc and 153 hp, which is controlled by an electronic package of the latest generation.
The new Streetfighter V2 is characterized by a really sharp design that takes up the classic style elements of the Streetfighter V4, starting with the striking headlight, reminiscent of the V-shape of the DRL typical of Ducati sports motorcycles and inspired by the famous grin of the Joker.
The technical concept of this new model is based on that of the Panigale V2. The Superquadro engine acts as a supporting element.
Ergonomics is all about the driver. The seating position is optimised for use on the road, with a focus on sportiness and comfort. The high and wide aluminium handlebar replaces the stubs of the Panigale V2. The seat is now wider and has a new padding that helps make this motorcycle even more comfortable. In addition, the footpexes have been repositioned to allow the driver a more comfortable seating position. All these improvements ensure great control when driving in a sporty way and at the same time make it easier to use in everyday life.
The Streetfighter V2 is powered by the 955 cc Superquadro engine, which meets the Euro 5 standard and delivers a maximum output of 153 hp at 10,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 101.4 Nm at 9,000 rpm. This engine is not only very easy to control on the road, but can also be used very effectively on the racetrack. Compared to the Panigale V2, the Streetfighter V2 has a shorter final ratio (15/45 compared to 15/43): this guarantees higher torque when used on the road and at the same time a better response of the engine when accelerating.
When developing this new model, Ducati engineers paid a lot of attention to the chassis. The Superquadro engine serves as a load-bearing element of the compact front structure, which consists of a die-cast aluminum monocoque frame attached to the engine. The single-arm swingarm, which is also connected to the engine, is 16 mm longer than that of the Panigale V2, a plus that contributes to the riding stability of the entire motorcycle.
The front wheel is guided by a 43 mm Showa BPF fork. A Sachs strut is installed at the rear. The suspension elements have a special set-up to make the motorcycle even more comfortable on the road. At the same time, however, they are also easily adjustable to experience a whole new dimension of driving pleasure on the racetrack.
The Streetfighter V2 is equipped with 5-spoke wheels and the new Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres: 120/70 ZR17 at the front and 180/60 ZR17 at the rear. The tyres react very quickly to the driver's steering impulses and give an unprecedented feeling in the corners. Apart from the use of less snappery brake pads, which are more suitable for use in road traffic, the entire braking system has been faithfully adopted from the Panigale V2 and is equipped with Brembo M4-32 monobloc radial calipers and brake discs with a diameter of 320 mm.
The comprehensive and modern electronic equipment of the Panigale V2 was also taken over from the Streetfighter V2. The 6-axle IMU inertial platform manages all the electronic controls of the motorcycle and indicates the position of the motorcycle in the room in real time and sends the information to the control units that manage the interventions. The electronic package includes: Cornering ABS EVO with "Slide by Brake" function, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS) EVO 2, Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO.
The Streetfighter V2 has three different riding modes (Sport, Road, Wet) with special settings. The electronic equipment can be extended by a number of accessories from the Ducati Performance catalogue: Ducati Data Analyzer (DDA + GPS) and Ducati Multimedia System.
The motorcycle is equipped with a full LED headlight with daytime running lights and a 4.3-inch TFT color display with an intuitive user interface reminiscent of the Streetfighter V4 family.
The Streetfighter V2 will be available from December at Ducati dealers in the colour Ducati Red with black rims.
The Ducati Performance catalogue contains numerous accessories that enhance the look, performance and style of the new Streetfighter V2. Particularly noteworthy are the winglets developed by Ducati to achieve even better performance on the racetrack.
For the year 2022, Ducati also presents the top model Streetfighter V4 SP, which is offered in a numbered version and marked with the legendary abbreviation "SP" (for Sport Production). The new Streetfighter V4 SP is the most exciting naked bike ever to roll off the assembly line at Borgo Panigale. This is thanks to the special technical equipment that perfectly combines the "Fight Formula" with the "SP" specification and further improves the power-to-weight ratio of the Streetfighter V4 S, which was already at the top of its category, and makes the motorcycle even more effective on the racetrack. The Streetfighter V4 SP has a special paint finish, premium equipment derived from the Superleggera V4 and a low weight: 196 kg in running order (3 kg less than the Streetfighter V4 S).The essential and fascinating "Winter Test" livery was designed by the Ducati Centro Stile based on the Ducati Corse bikes used in the pre-season tests of the MotoGP and SBK Championships. The matte black of the fairing in combination with the matte carbon of the rims and winglets forms an excellent contrast to the bright red accents and the sparkling brushed aluminum tank. The new addition from Borgo Panigale is also equipped with some nice details, such as the sequential number on the handlebars and the Italian flag on the carbon winglets. The Streetfighter V4 SP is equipped with carbon rims in 5-double-spoke design, which are 1.4 kg lighter than the forged aluminum rims that are fitted as standard on the Streetfighter V4 S. This reduces the mass inertia by 26% at the front and by 46% at the rear, which makes the motorcycle much more agile and handy when changing direction. The exclusive Brembo Stylema R® calipers on the front wheel guarantee exceptional braking power and breathtaking performance even during intensive use on the racetrack*.The new motorcycle is equipped with the Öhlins Smart EC 2.0, an "event based" system that can vary damping depending on the rider's riding style. Together with the double winglets, they ensure more confidence and the best performance in sporting use.The beating heart is the 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale with 208 hp, which delivers a torque of 123 Nm at 9,500 rpm (Euro 5 standard). In the Streetfighter V4 SP, the Desmosedici Stradale is combined with the STM-EVO SBK dry clutch, which guarantees better anti-hopping even with the most aggressive downshifts and better smoothness when the driver steps off the accelerator - a crucial aspect to be really effective on the race track when you go to the limit. The equipment of this unique motorcycle is enriched by the adjustable CNC-machined aluminum footpegs, the carbon front fender, the lithium-ion battery and a range of accessories suitable for "track days". These include the open carbon clutch cover** and the cover for holding the license plate holder**Thanks to its technical equipment, the Streetfighter V4 SP is the ideal companion for any amateur who wants to master the race track with a naked bike and get an immediate reaction. The braking performance is outstanding, the motorcycle is easier to corner and reaches the apex faster, not to mention the high stability at high speeds. The Streetfighter V4 SP will be available as a single-seater in the "Winter Test" livery. The bike will be available at Ducati dealerships from January 2022.
