Extended series scope, fine-tuning design and even more pull-through power. The new BMW R nineT models – R nineT, R nineT Pure, R nineT Scrambler and R nineT Urban G/S. For the upcoming 2021 season, BMW Motorrad has now sharpened the R nineT family with some technical changes as well as significantly expanded standard and special equipment.
With the R nineT, BMW Motorrad presented more than just a classic roadster in 2013. From the very beginning, she combined classic motorcycle design and modern technology with high craftsmanship and a wide range of possibilities for individualization. A short time later, the R nineT found attractive derivatives in the BMW Motorrad adventure world Heritage: the R nineT Urban G/S as enduro with the genes of the legendary R 80 G/S from 1980, the R nineT Scrambler as a tribute to this special motorcycle genre for people who love the purist, reduced and non-conform, and the R nineT Pure as the most essential reduced roadster. For the upcoming 2021 season, BMW Motorrad has now sharpened the R nineT family with some technical changes as well as significantly expanded standard and special equipment.
Boxer engine according to EU-5 regulations with new cylinder heads, even more torque and optimized design.
For use in the new R nineT models, the boxer engine was fine-tuned both technical and optical and is now designed for the regulations of the pollutant class EU-5. Its peak power is now 80 kW (109 hp) at 7250 min-1 (previously 81 kW (110 hp) at 7750 min-1), the maximum torque is still 116 Nm at 6000 min-1. Newly designed cylinder heads ensure a more harmonious transition from the outer to the inner cooling fins and redesigned throttle parts and cylinder head hoods now make it look even more aesthetic.
A new turbulence system is used inside the cylinder heads, which ensures even better and cleaner combustion and more torque by means of a swirl of the mixture. Thanks to an even fuller power and torque flow, especially in the range between 4000 and 6000 rpm, noticeably better pull-through values are now realized than the predecessor.
ABS Pro including DBC (Dynamic Brake Control), new strut with away-dependent damping (WAD) as well as driving modes "Rain" and "Road" now as standard.
Already in series production, the new R nineT models now feature ABS Pro in conjunction with DBC (Dynamic Brake Control) for more safety when braking – even in an inclined position and in difficult situations. Also part of the standard range is a new strut with away-dependent damping (WAD) and thus more suspension comfort and convenient adjustment of the spring preload via a handwheel. The "Rain" and "Road" driving modes are now also standard on board.

Also as standard, the new R nineT models now feature a headlamp and white flashing lights in LED technology. The extended range of the new R nineT models is complemented by a USB charging socket.
