Updates for 2022: Kawasaki Versys 650 and Ninja H2 SX
Finally - the long-awaited update for the Versys 650 is coming in 2022
Photos: Kawasaki With the Ninja H2 SX and the Versys 650, Kawasaki is presenting two new models at the EICMA in Milan that have been consistently prepared for the future. While the Versys 650 receives traction control and Bluetooth connectivity in addition to many design updates, the Ninja H2 SX has been supplemented with assistance systems at the highest level. Especially the radar-based collision warning system is a real innovation in production motorcycles.
Ninja H2 SX – touring motorcycle with absolutely complete equipment
The new Ninja H2 SX, which has been equipped with two radar sensors, has a variety of driver assistance systems. These include forward collision warning, blind spot detection and adaptive cruise control. The top model Ninja H2 SX SE is also equipped with an electronic suspension from Showa with Skyhook technology.
The collision warning system can be adjusted to the traffic situation in three stages. A light strip appears on the display as soon as the minimum distance to a vehicle in front is reached. Adaptive Cruise Control – as a further electronic support – automatically reduces the speed via automatic correction for throttle position and brakes when other vehicles are detected. Blind spot detection accesses the second radar unit mounted at the rear. If vehicles appear in the blind spot, the driver is alerted by a yellow warning lamp in the rear-view mirror.
The Ninja H2 SX, with its supercharged engine perfectly adapted for comfortable travel, offers the ideal platform for these new technologies. Also on board are a cornering management function, traction control with different stages, launch control including engine brake control, integrated driver modes and a quickshifter. When travelling, the keyless starting system, LED cornering lights, hazard warning lights during emergency braking and tyre pressure monitoring are also valuable details. The new model even has an integrated hill start assist. Anyone who has ever had to drive fully loaded with two people on the mountain will appreciate this technology.
Another new technology on the Ninja H2 SX is called "Kawasaki SPIN". In the large TFT display, Kawasaki SPIN (which can be connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth) allows access to a large number of apps selected via the control switch on the left handlebar fitting. Weather and navigation modes are available as well as information about the driver assistance systems – in fact, there are currently over 20 apps in Kawasaki SPIN and more will follow.

Versys 650 – comprehensive updates for the all-round adventure bike
Visually, the new Versys 650 can be recognized by the sportier front fairing with the windscreen adjustable in four stages. In addition, there is now LED lighting, KTRC traction control and the two selectable driving modes.
The advantages of the Versys 650 are also retained in the new model. A relaxed seating position is created by the narrow frame and engine. This makes long tours just as pleasant and safe as daily trips in the city.
The new TFT colour display with Bluetooth connectivity now offers even more convenience. Kawasaki's Rideology app enables data exchange between motorcycle electronics and the rider's smartphone.
These updates make the Versys 650 even more versatile and absolutely fit for the future.
