The Triumph Thruxton RS goes even further to the limits of the Modern Classic. The new machine, which is equipped with an overhauled 1200 cc Thruxton RS high-performance engine, produces 8 hp more than the previous "R" version. This is achieved by upgrading the engine, including high compression pistons, redesigned connectors and cam profiles, a secondary air system, and a whole range of lighter engine components. The RS also offers higher torque in the lower and total speed range and reaches peak values of 112 Nm at 4,850 rpm and 700 rpm less than its predecessor. In addition, all these engine updates reduce inertia by 20% and create a new more responsive and characteristic Thruxton RS engine.
