New BMW R 1250 RT for 2021
BMW peps up its Boxer Tourer
BMW undergoes a fresh cell cure on the R 1250 RT. From 2021, the Tourer will get a new front and many technical updates. Especially the new and huge 10.25" TFT colour display should attract the eye. The price rises moderately to 18,862 euros.
BMW has also updated the colours: the BMW R 1250 RT 2021 is available in brown, blue, silver and white. But the eye-catcher par excellence is without question the new cockpit. The TFT color display now dissolves in Full HD and displays not only the usual information, but also map navigation and media information in split-screen mode. Thanks to the smartphone connectivity and the BMW app, a separate navigation system is to be superfluous.
Even from the outside, the new RT can be seen immediately by the new face. There is now LED light with optional adaptive curve light as standard. What many touring drivers are happy about is the newly created possibility to charge their smartphone wirelessly (inductively).
Other technical news is the optional active cruise control (ACC), which we have already presented in a
separate news. Also new is a stronger amplifier and a DAB+ radio. The sound is easily controllable via the multicontroller and of course you can also play MP3s from your Smartpone via the on-board stereo system.
The Shiftcam boxer unveiled in 2020 has been homologated on Euro 5. It delivers 136 hp and powerful 143 Nm of torque. The driving modes have been added to the "Eco" mode. Also in series on board are now a dynamic traction control (DTC), cruise control, ABS Pro and a double fanfare horn (!).
