Graphic: Motorradtest.de Overall market motorcycles up 24.1% compared to October 2023!
New registrations of motorcycles in October 2024 increased by 24.1 percent compared to the previous year. Of course, not as many motorcycles will be bought or newly registered at the end of the year as in the spring, but the figures for October 2024 are still more than impressive.
BMW in particular is apparently stepping on the gas again at the end of the year: With a market share of just under 24 percent, the Munich-based company is now clearly ahead of Honda, which comes to just under 14 percent. All other manufacturers are below 10 percent, but still all sell more bikes than in the same period of October 2023, with Suzuki being the biggest winner this month with an 85.6 percent increase in sales. But beware: We are talking about only 334 pieces in absolute terms - still a nice success for Hamamatsu.
In terms of the best-selling bikes in October 2024, BMW dominates the action with five models in the top 7. Despite the recalls, the R 1300 GS is in 1st place, as always, followed by the affordable Honda XL 750 Transalp. Amazing: The BMW R18 in 7th place and the G 310 R in 3rd place! But as I said, the fewer new aircraft are registered, the more shifts there are, of course, in the ranking. In addition, there are one-day registrations by dealers because of Euro5+. However, we cannot see what these are from the figures of the IVM, but the G 310 R, for example, should be an example of this.
