KTM in 2nd place in terms of market share!

The changeover to Euro5+ makes it possible: In November 2024, 11,274 new motorcycles were registered. This is exactly 203.1% more than in November 2023! The main reason for this boost is likely to be the one-day registrations of dealers.

The new registrations of November 2024 bring some changes compared to the previous months. Above all, the figures of the Pierer Group's brands KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas make you sit up and take notice. KTM is suddenly in 2nd place in terms of market share, Husqvarna in 5th place and GasGas in 9th place. Are these the effects of the crisis at the Pierer Group? It is said that various pre-produced machines are stockpiled - presumably these are now being pushed into the market with price discounts.

However, many new registrations are also recognizable for all other brands. For example, Kawasaki sold 1,257 machines in November 2024, compared to just 291 in November 2023. The changeover to Euro5+ forces dealers and manufacturers to "knock out" the machines that have not yet been homologated for Euro5+. If these are not approved in 2024, they can no longer be sold.

Of course, this circumstance is evident in the top 50 of the best-selling (mostly newly registered models). The first four places are occupied by bikes from KTM, Kawasaki and Husqvarna. The BMW R 1300 GS takes 5th place - this has never happened since the introduction of the new GS! So, complete confusion with the new registrations, here are the details.
