New motorcycle registrations May 2022

 

Looking at the period January to May 2022, the increase is still a good 2.2 percent for motorcycles (anything over 125 cc without scooters). If light motorcycles and scooters are added, the increase is even 10.3 percent. Interestingly, sales of electric motorcycles reported by the IVM for the first time in May are still low, but are growing strongly. In total, only 699 e-bikes were sold from January to May 2022. The market leader is Vmoto (Supersoco) with a market share of 27 percent, followed by Zero Motorcycles with 23.75 percent MA. Little has changed in the market shares of combustion engines (see chart above). The share of "other producers" continues to increase steadily, led by Royal Enfield and Husqvarna as well as the new Chinese producers.
