BMW presents the new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR

The new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR: Technical and visual upgrades as well as significantly expanded standard equipment for the Dynamic Roadster and the mid-range long-distance sports car.

With the new BMW F 900 R Dynamic Roadster and the new F 900 XR crossover bike, BMW Motorrad is taking its product range for the popular mid-size class to a new level. Both F models impress with sportiness and driving pleasure on winding terrain, now offer even more light-footed handling and are suitable for experienced drivers as well as for newcomers and returners. While the new BMW F 900 R as a dynamic roadster is primarily aimed at sporty driving pleasure, the BMW F 900 XR has everything it takes to be a confident partner on longer tours and holiday trips with luggage.

Powerful two-cylinder in-line engine with Euro 5+ homologation. "Dynamic" driving mode with sportier tuning, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and engine drag torque control MSR now on board as standard. New sports rear silencer in cooperation with Akrapovič as an original BMW Motorrad accessory.
 
In the new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR, the tried-and-tested two-cylinder in-line engine with 895^cm3 displacement and 77 kW (105 hp) of power as well as a full-bodied torque curve in the current Euro 5+ homologation ensures enjoyable driving dynamics. With the newly tuned standard "Dynamic" driving mode, the two new F models offer even more driving pleasure and dynamics at a sporty pace. The standard Dynamic Traction Control DTC ensures the best possible safety when accelerating. The engine drag torque control MSR is also standard. It prevents slipping or stamping of the rear wheel caused by abrupt acceleration or downshifting, thus offering even more safety.

The two-cylinder sound, which is already strong in character due to the ignition distance of 270/450 degrees, sounds even more robust with the new sports rear silencer (in collaboration with Akrapovič), which is available as an original BMW Motorrad accessory, and also offers a weight advantage of approx. 1.2 kg.

On both the new BMW F 900 R and the new BMW F 900 XR, the front wheel guidance is provided by a new, torsion-resistant upside-down telescopic fork with a 43 mm lower leg diameter. The rebound and compression damping as well as the spring base ("spring preload") are now adjustable. This allows an ideal coordination according to personal needs.

In addition, the new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR feature new 17-inch cast aluminium wheels. Overall, they weigh around 1.8 kg less than the previous models and thus make a significant contribution to reducing the overall weight by 3 kg.

The new F models offer the BMW Motorrad ABS Pro as a further new component of the standard equipment. In contrast to BMW Motorrad ABS, ABS Pro goes even further and also offers more safety when braking in curves by enabling ABS-assisted braking in an inclined position.

As a further safety feature, the Dynamic Brake Control DBC, which is now standard, offers even more safety when braking, even in difficult situations, by avoiding unintentional acceleration of the accelerator.

The two new models in the F series are each equipped with a new battery that is 0.8 kg lighter. They also have a new rear end with function-integrated turn signals (brake and tail light functions are integrated into the turn signals).

The new BMW F 900 XR comes standard with Headlight Pro including daytime running lights and adaptive cornering lights for even more safety when driving at night. Other standard innovations of the BMW F 900 XR are the USB-C charging port in the right-hand area of the cockpit with a charging current of no more than 2.4 A and the heated grips.

The ergonomic triangle handlebar-seat-footrests of the new BMW F 900 R has been revised in the area of the handlebar, footrest and foot lever position. This made it possible to achieve a much sportier and more front-wheel-oriented seating position.

The increased sporty aspirations of the new BMW F 900 R are underlined by the side panelling of the headlights, which is painted in the respective body colour.
 

BMW F 900 XR with optimised aerodynamics and hand protection as standard.
 
The new BMW F 900 XR offers even more touring suitability and long-distance comfort thanks to optimised aerodynamics in the front fairing area. The newly designed wind deflector reduces the wind pressure on the rider, which translates into significantly reduced helmet vibration and thus even more riding comfort. Improved wind and weather protection is also provided by the hand protection that comes as standard in all equipment variants.

The new BMW F 900 R is offered in three attractive colour schemes. As a basic variant in the body colour Snapper Rocks Blue metallic, in the variant Triple Black in Blackstorm metallic and in Lightwhite uni / Racing Blue metallic as the Sport variant.

The new BMW F 900 XR will also be available in three variants and colours for the coming motorcycle season. As a basic variant in Racing Red uni, as Triple Black in Blackstorm metallic and as a Sport variant in Light White uni / Racing Blue metallic.
