Triumph unveiled the new Scrambler 1200 in London. The machine is available as Scrambler 1200 XC and XE. The XE version has extremely long spring travel of 250 mm front and rear and a seat height of 870 mm and should therefore be very suitable for off-road use. The XC is a little less extreme and is therefore more suitable for the road. Both models come with a two-cylinder four-stroke in-line engine with 90 hp at 7,400 Umin and 110 Nm at 3,950 Umin. The front wheel measures 21 inches and the tank capacity is 16 liters. The weight of the Scrambler 1200 is 205 kg.

The suspension at the front comes from Showa and from Öhlins at the back. At the back there are unusual stereo struts on a handmade aluminium two-arm swingarm. The Triumph Scrambler 1200 comes with cruise control and keyless go as well as driving modes and traction control. It is therefore comparable in terms of equipment and performance to the equally new Ducati Scrambler 1100. The cockpit is a modern TFT screen.
