The Corona crisis seems to have been overcome

In May 2020, more new motorcycles were registered than in the previous year. Due to the Corona crisis, things were very different in April and March. 125 machines and 125 scooters have increased particularly strongly.

The IVM figures are clear: new registrations are on the rise again. A whopping 23.39% is the increase compared to May 2019. A total of 24,422 machines were newly registered in May 2020. If you look closely, however, it becomes clear that not all segments have benefited equally. The light motorcycles in particular ("125s") have grown strongly with about 60 percent, while the light-power scooters have even increased by a whopping 111 percent. However, the increase of 6.33 percent was also positive for motorcycles (all over 125 cc). An interactive evaluation of the new registrations since 2002 can be found here.
