Four BMW models in the top 5!

In January 2024, a total of 4,436 motorcycles (everything except 125cc and scooters) were registered, of which 1,351 were from BMW. So, the year starts similarly to 2023, with January traditionally being one of the worst sales months for motorcycles.

Due to the low number of registrations, there are stronger fluctuations in market shares and top sellers than in the sales months of March to June. In January 2024, for example, the Kawasaki Z900 was only in 7th place and the Z650 was only in 23rd place. However, this will change in the next few months and then these two models will probably end up in the top 5 again.

In January, BMW has now made its presence felt there with no less than five models (see below). Accordingly, BMW has regained the crown in terms of market share from Honda: A whopping 31 percent market share is a bombshell start to the year for the Munich-based company - thanks to GS! Surprise: The BMW S 1000 RR in 3rd place with 107 newly registered units. Also strong is the new Africa Twin 2024 in 6th place, which we have just tested, by the way.
