Step 1: Motorcycle type

What type should your motorcycle be of?
Here you can choose several options or "Ignore" if you are unsure.

Adventure

Adventure Bike
Adventure Bikes could be described as a mixture between enduro and tourer, with the suspension of an enduro and the equipment of a tourer. For very long distances, tours or trips, the travel enduro is very well suited, these motorcycles are very comfortable, which is necessary for long distances, another right point for travel enduros is the possibility to load plenty of luggage to the motorcycle. The enlarged tank also makes it possible to drive long distances without refueling stops, the disadvantage of these changes to the Enduro, are an increased motorcycle weight, which leads to losses in off-road capability.Source: alpen-motorradfahrer.com
Adventure

Crossover

Crossover
Cross-over bikes are a mixture of travel and sports machines. Unlike adventure bikes, they have smaller 17-inch rims and are therefore more manoeuvrable and usually also a little lighter and sportier. They are generally suitable for longer tours, offer in contrast to the larger travel enduros but often a little less space for the passenger.
Crossover

Cruiser

Cruiser
Long wheelbase, wide tires, large engine, large fenders, wide handlebars, crash bars and panniers are some of the features a cruiser has. Cruisers are motorcycles whose characteristics apply to American motorcycles such as Harley Davidson, Indian or Henderson, mainly to motorcycles that have been built since the 30s.Source: alpen-motorradfahrer.com
Cruiser

Enduro

Enduro
Enduro motorcycles are particularly suitable for off-road driving, on inaccessible terrain the Enduro motorcycle is at home. Enduros are also used on the road, they are also good to ride on longer distances, the versatility and robust construction make these motorcycles very popular with touring riders.Source: alpen-motorradfahrer.com
Enduro

Naked

Naked
A series motorcycle without partial or full fairing.
The naked bike is designed for use on the country road, the chassis is designed for the best possible handling. This bike has excellent riding characteristics.Source: alpen-motorradfahrer.com
Naked

Retro

Retro
Retro motorcycles look like from a bygone era, but underneath beats a modern heart, nostalgic, classic, even as art you could call these motorcycles. The vintage look is very much on the rise at the moment, so these retro bikes are also very popular with lovers and arouse nostalgia in riders and viewers.Source: alpen-motorradfahrer.com

Scrambler

Scrambler
In the 1950s to 70s, the Scrambler was widely used, so to speak, it was the predecessor of today's Enduros and Motocross bikes, which replaced the Scrambler in the 1970s. The Scrambler was characterized by its off-road capability, although it was quite similar to the road machines, it had some differences that improved off-road driving, such as a higher mounted exhaust, coarse-studded tires, wide handlebars and mudguards to provide better protection for the motorcycle.Source: alpen-motorradfahrer.com

Supersport

Supersport
With this motorcycle, an optimal ratio of engine power and vehicle mass, and as easy as possible to ride are in the foreground. The suitability for everyday use plays a subordinate role in these motorcycles.Source: alpen-motorradfahrer.com
Supersport

Sport

Sport
Sports motorcycles are located between super athletes and sports tourers. They're not quite as radically geared towards sports as super athletes are and not quite as comfortable and heavy as sports tourers. Sports bikes provide the sportiest bikes for the country road.
Sport

Supermoto

Supermoto
Supermoto motorcycles are actually the same motorcycles as Enduro or Motocross motorcycles, the biggest and decisive difference is the use of road tires on smaller and wide rims. The brakes on the front wheel are reinforced and the suspension and suspension is designed for riding on asphalt, so a motocross bike becomes a supermoto.Source: alpen-motorradfahrer.com
Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200

Sports tourer

Sports tourer
The engine performance hardly differs from super sports cars, but in contrast to these, the sports tourer has a more comfortable seating position and slightly more comfortable suspension. Even for the front passenger, longer tours in the passenger seat are not a major problem.Source: alpen-motorradfahrer.com
Suzuki GSX 1300 R Hayabusa

Tourer

Tourer
As the name suggests, tourers are particularly suitable for long tours. Unlike adventure bikes, tourers are not suitable for easy terrain, they definitely belong on the road. Tourers are heavy machines with plenty of space for driver and passenger and very good Wind and weather protection thanks to large-area cladding. Tourers are often very luxuriously equipped. Often include loudspeakers, large storage compartments and integrated cases to the equipment features.

Step 12: Drive

Do you have a preference for the drive?
Attention: If you select gimbal or strap here, the selection will be severely restricted.

Strap

Belt drive
Advantages:
  • no cleaning, tension or lubrication required
  • does not squander dirt like a chain
  • lighter than gimbal
Disadvantages:
  • requires a relatively large amount of installation space: diameter of the rear gear and width of the belt are larger than with chain
Source: motorrad.fandom.com

Chain

Chain drive
Advantages
  • simple technique that can be repaired by any mechanic
  • Translation easy to change - ideal in motorsport, but leads to the expiry of the operating permit within the framework of the StVZO, a new exhaust gas and noise emission report must be prepared. Even with less than 8% change and with passed TÜV/AU. Changes around 1 tooth in the front correspond to 3 teeth in the back.
Disadvantages
  • High maintenance effort: clean, grease, tension, change chain set
  • as a result, high costs
  • ejected chain grease (e.B. by rainwater) contaminates swingarm, rim and other parts in the rear area
Source: motorrad.fandom.com

Gimbal

Gimbal drive
Advantages
  • low maintenance, does not need to be cleaned or replaced
  • does not pollute the rim and swingarm
  • is not polluted by dirt, rain, dust
  • no risk of injury
Disadvantages
  • slight loss of power due to bevel gears
  • more weight
  • Costs for (rare) defects
  • Stronger load change reactions on some older models

Motorcycle Configurator

Configure your dream bike based on 14 questions.

Motorcycle configurator - 14 questions on the way to the right bike

With our motorcycle configurator, even beginners can find the machines that suit them. Instead of technical information, easy-to-understand questions are asked and the answers are used to compile the bikes that are suitable for the user. Of course, the available budget is also taken into account and the results of the matching motorcycles can be sorted according to various criteria.

And this is how the motorcycle configurator works

Our bike configurator for your desired motorcycle is largely self-explanatory. You only need to answer the question you can answer. For many questions, multiple selections are possible, so that the result list of the suitable bikes is not too much restricted. You can answer question by question one at a time, but you can also jump back and correct an answer. Below the questionnaire, the matching motorcycles are displayed as a list and updated after each step. The more questions you have answered, the smaller the number of suitable bikes. Ideally, there are only a few machines left at the end - i.e. according to question 14. They should then fit exactly to you and your requirements.

You will be surprised because...

... Probably in the end there will also be motorcycles in the list that you haven't even thought of yet. And that's exactly the purpose of our motorcycle configurator: We want to show you the right one for you from all bikes. Maybe in the end you don't even decide on a model of the brands that were previously in your head. Let yourself be surprised - have fun!
