With the Ténéré 700, or T7 for short, Yamaha has impressively demonstrated its claim to leadership in the travel enduro mid-range. In unison, good tests by the trade press and a rapidly growing fan base prove that the manufacturer has hit the mark with the concept of a simple, robust, extremely off-road and inexpensive adventure.
The Ténéré 700 has also been widely used on the Touratech test tours and was gladly used by all drivers. But how could it be otherwise, even on a great motorcycle, the Touratech experts always find something that could be done better. The test drivers have identified great potential in the area of the seat. Too narrow and too little padded, was the unanimous verdict.
So the development team got to work and transferred the concept of the Touratech comfort seat to the T7. In view of the overall sporty characteristics, only a one-piece design was an option.
Ergonomic shape
The bench is wider in the seating area than the original, but tapers forward to ensure a tight knee closure on the tank as well as good accessibility of the floor with the feet.
In complex tests, the angle of the seat surface compared to the horizontal was determined exactly in such a way that the driver's pelvis is tilted into an anatomically correct position, which relieves the lumbar spine and favors an upright sitting position
In order to be able to cope with long stages without fatigue, the comfort seat has an anatomical contour that effectively avoids punctual load peaks. The comfortable, taut seat core made of particularly high-quality foam ensures an even weight distribution and does not sit through even during hours of driving.
While the hollow in the middle of the seat relieves the coccyx, pressure points in the seating area are avoided thanks to optimally positioned seams.
Fresh Touch Coating
The bi-elastic, antipersive cover material is completely waterproof. Its Fresh Touch surface coating reflects sunlight, which reduces the heating of the surface by up to 10°C compared to conventional upholstery materials. The roughened surface ensures safe sitting even during strong acceleration and braking manoeuvres.
Like all Touratech comfort benches, the seat for the T7 comes with a self-developed plastic tub. An exchange for the original tub is therefore not necessary. Precise mounts and fasteners guarantee easy and safe installation.
Available in three heights
Touratech offers the comfort seat for the Yamaha Ténéré 700 in three heights, which vary the seat height by two centimeters each, so that a knee angle corresponding to the individual stature can be realized. Each seat height has a foam core with appropriately adapted properties to ensure maximum comfort even on the longest distances.
Made in Bavaria
Touratech comfort benches are manufactured according to strict quality specifications at the partner company Crew68 in Murnau, Upper Bavaria. From development to prototype construction to series production, the entire process takes place in-house. State-of-the-art technologies in the prototyping and production of foam core and tub complement each other with traditional saddlery work during the purchase.
