On the occasion of its 50th production anniversary, the BMW Group Plant Berlin is holding a big celebration for all employees and their families on 7 September at the factory premises in Spandau. The more than 12,000 registered visitors can expect a journey through five decades of BMW Motorrad production at the site. The motto "50 years of tactile feeling" stands deliberately in Berlineric for the efficient production cycle on the assembly lines, the reliable clock of the BMW engines, but also for the tactful handling of each other.
Helmut Schramm, Head of Production BMW Motorrad, emphasizes: "In September 1969, the BMW R 60/5 was the first motorcycle completely manufactured at the Berlin plant. Fifty years and more than three million motorcycles later, our plant in Spandau has developed into one of the most modern in the motorcycle industry. We are very proud of the high level of competence at the site. And that's what we want to celebrate with today's employee and family day. Many thanks to all the helpers who make this day possible."
