Radio silence
- Wonderful protection against theft by range extenders
Photo: Wunderlich The comfort of Keyless Go technology is undisputed. With it, the motorcycle can be easily put into operation without having to crawl after the key. Especially in the dark or when you don't have your hands free. But - and this is unfortunately not known to many - the technology that makes our lives so easy and convenient, this technology is vulnerable. It is sufficient to "tap" the key signal. With a so-called range extender, this is easier than expected. Normally, the radio signal of the key is limited to a few meters. With the range extender, the signal of the access system can be extended over tens of meters and thus the motorcycle can be unlocked. Sitting during a rest in the café it is easy to pick up the signal and extend it to the parking lot. The pressure on the starter button is enough to drive away. The worst thing is that the acquisition and operation of such a range extender is perfectly legal.

The countyers have shielded the key case with RFID blockers so effectively that neither radio waves can penetrate in nor out. This leaves the Keyless Go key unassailable as long as it is carefully stored in the locked, fully shielded case. This is a simple and at the same time effective method to prevent the theft of your own motorcycle. Wunderlich offers a black and a version in carbon optics.
