The new decade has begun. Many youngtimers exceed the 30-year limit and thus become a real classic car. In the local garages and workshops, the vehicles are prepared on two and four wheels for the first rides. But stop, there is still a headlight missing, since the window of the rear light is broken and with the starter there were already problems last year. Perhaps there is also an original packed bumper made of old stocks, so that the slightly rusted and slightly dented part can finally be replaced.
This is the right time to visit VETERAMA. According to the motto: if you can't find anything here, you don't need anything.
It is said to bring a lot of motivation from 3 to 5 April. Every single stand can provide your desired part. But for that you have to crawl in boxes, search under tables and sometimes ask the right questions, because most of the time the dealer says: "Oh, you know what, I still have such a part in the trunk. Wait a moment, I'll get it." That's right. Here you meet real screwdrivers. Where else is such an offer of parts for your old or youngtimer.
Some impressive dragsters are displayed in the paddock's boxes. On a screen you can see excerpts of races at the Hockenheimring.
In Hall 2, the clubs have set up their stands, and in the club lounge you have the opportunity for a rest or a one or two gasoline talk.
On the MARKTPLATZ there is interesting supply for the next screwdriver months, or there is the super original preserved or perfectly restored bargain.
This year's supporting programme at VETERAMA: Supermoto is a comparatively young motorcycling sport that has been practised in Europe since about 1985. The idea was to determine the best riders, i.e. the "superbikers", from the three motorcycle sports motocross, road racing and dirttrack or flattrack, the American version of the speedway. Genuine SuMo tracks have an asphalt, flat gravel and a hilly off-road section. The asphalt content is usually 70 to 80%, the off-road content is 20 to 30%.
The fascination of this sport lies in spectacular drifts and overtaking manoeuvres. Hockenheim-Ring GmbH, in conjunction with VETERAMA and the Border Area Agency, has created the opportunity to offer SuperMoto training in the middle of the legendary Motodrom. Divided into performance-oriented groups, everyone - whether amateur driver or professional racer - will be given the opportunity to make their rounds on parts of the Formula 1 circuit.
