The KB998 Rimini was presented to the public and the media for the first time at the EICMA motorcycle show last autumn. This supersport is the base model for BbKRT's WorldSBK race machines, with Alex Lowes and Axel Bassani battling it out for the championship points. The start of sales of the customer machines at European and Asian bimota dealers has now been announced by the traditional company from Rimini for April 9. The impressive Ninja ZX-10R engine acts as the heart of the motorcycle. This engine operates in a chassis developed and manufactured by bimota, which is equipped with high-quality chassis and brake components. The first units of the KB998 Rimini for Europe are currently being delivered to the European central warehouse. From there, distribution to the bimota dealer network in Europe begins, where the first customers can pick up their pre-ordered machines.
According to Pierluigi Marconi, Chief Operating Officer of bimota, the first machines will soon be in the showrooms: "
We focused on the production of the KB998 Rimini customer machines right after the race versions for BbKRT were developed for WorldSBK. The same mechanics who had built the racing machines took care of the production of the customer machines. Each copy of the KB998 available from a bimota dealer has been handcrafted in our workshop in Rimini and is the product of a single person from the beginning to the end of the manufacturing process. We remain true to the bimota philosophy of innovation and handcrafted quality – that's what customers expect from exclusive motorcycles. We are already looking forward to their feedback in April."The production schedule at bimota is currently focused on meeting customer demand while supporting the WorldSBK team. This means that the Rimini factory is running at full speed, as bimota Marketing Manager Gianluca Galasso explains: "There was already a lot of interest after EICMA, but BbKRT's WorldSBK activities have increased global awareness even further. With the help of our partner Kawasaki, we have been able to develop powerful back-office systems that provide optimal support and information to our growing dealer base. The demand for larger quantities is a welcome challenge. We are currently packing the machines for shipment soon. A new era has begun for our prestigious Italian motorcycle brand, whose legacy we have inherited."
