Weak: Only 17,262 newly registered motorcycles in April.

The IVM reports only 17,262 newly registered motorcycles for April 2024 (everything except 125cc and scooters). After the good February, this was now the second month in a row after March that showed worse figures than the previous year. In contrast, little has changed in terms of market shares. BMW leads ahead of Honda and Kawasaki.

However, BMW's market share is only 18.4 percent. Without the BMW R 1300 GS, BMW would be pretty bare: Among the top 10 there is only one current BMW (apart from the sale of the R 1250 GS remaining stock). Otherwise, very little has happened in the top 50 of the best-selling motorcycles. Kawa is enjoying the unbroken popularity of the Z900 and Z650, Yamaha is at the top with the MT-07 and Honda is placing several mid-range models such as the Hornet 750 and the 650 four-cylinder.
