The debut of the electric-powered LiveWire and the return of the popular Low Rider S
New models and new technologies will make Harley-Davidson 2020's model portfolio even more attractive and diverse. With the new Low Rider S, Harley-Davidson is expanding the Softail family with a bike with dynamic style and impressive performance. Also new in the range are the electrically driven LiveWire and the new Trike CVO Tri Glide, an uncompromising three-wheeled vehicle. Also new for 2020 are H-D Connect*, which provides the driver with information about the vehicle via the mobile phone app via the smartphone, and the Reflex Defensive Rider Systems (RDRS), an electronic assistance system package for selected models that includes, among other things, a curve ABS (C-ABS) and a curve traction control (C-TCS).
The Harley-Davidson LiveWire: a completely new motorcycle experience
The LiveWire is a completely new, electrically powered motorcycle. It is as fascinating as it is powerful, offering a very dynamic driving experience, an impressive design and the incomparable feel of a real Harley-Davidson. Powered by the new Revelation E-motor with its high, immediate and unretrievable torque, the LiveWire features powerful acceleration and impressive pull-through – without domes and without shifting. With a range of around 158 kilometers (98 miles)** – determined in the WMTC test cycle – it is tailored to an urban environment. The LiveWire is the first model in a future e-portfolio of the company, with which it wants to become one of the market leaders in electrically driven two-wheelers.
The new Low Rider S combines power and style
The new Low Rider S offers plenty of power and agile handling in combination with classic strength of character. The handling of the stable Softail chassis is optimised by high-quality chassis components that are tailored to a dynamic driving style and optimally harmonize with the performance of the powerful Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine. A handlebar riser, a skimpy headlight panel and a black finish on numerous surfaces contribute to the Coastal Custom look.
New technologies
H-D Connect* provides the driver with information about his vehicle via the Harley-Davidson app via the smartphone. It is available for selected Harley-Davidson models and ensures that the driver is always connected to his machine, even if the two are spatially separated from each other. Various information on the vehicle condition can then be retrieved via the smartphone. The system also allows the owner to monitor the motorcycle remotely. If unauthorized persons are bothered by the machine or move it, he will receive a corresponding notice. The Reflex Defensive Rider Systems (RDRS) electronic assistance system package combines state-of-the-art chassis, brake and drive technology to adjust the acceleration and deceleration forces to the available tire adhesion. RDRS is standard on The LiveWire, Trikes, CVO types and the Touring Models Road King Special, Street Glide Special, Road Glide Special, Ultra Limited and the new Road Glide Limited in the 2020 model year.
