Pure, uncompromising style, high-quality equipment and exclusive workmanship
Since 2013, The Dark Side of Japan has been the inspiration for the development of Yamaha's MT models. They raised excitement and dynamics to a whole new level. Designed and built by people who put their heart and soul into the motorcycle, Yamaha's MT models created their own dynamic Hyper Naked category, bringing a new kind of two-wheeled experience to a large number of riders.
With its high-torque engines, agile handling and unparalleled look, every single MT is designed for sporty and exciting rides that let the rider experience pure passion.
With over 290,000 units sold in Europe, the MT range has brought a new kind of enthusiasm to the road. And the models in the smaller displacement classes have managed to inspire completely new generations of people for motorcycling.
From the MT-125 to the new MT-10, Yamaha's Hyper Naked range is designed to bring every rider the exciting MT world to life.
One of the most important features of the Yamaha MT series is the wide range of models. This allows drivers with different levels of experience, requirements and budgets to find their optimal model. With the high-quality finish of exclusive colours and graphics, the SP versions are also the top models in the segment due to their demanding specifications.
The new MT-10 SP is the first choice for riders who want the most exclusive Hyper Naked bike with the best suspension technology ever used in a production bike. It is equipped front and rear with the latest electronically controlled spring elements from Öhlins.
The Yamaha R1M has a similar system, but the MT-10 SP uses the next generation of the electronically controlled Öhlins suspension system, which uses new damping technology.
This technology offers even more setting options. The tuning of the spring elements takes place in the TRC settings in the ERS menu. In the ERS menu, three semi-active damping levels (A-1, A-2, A-3) and three manual settings (M-1, M-2, M-3) are available.
If an automatic mode is selected, the system adjusts the rebound and compression damping to the current driving conditions and continuously adjusts to ensure that the optimum settings are always used.
In manual mode, the rider can precisely electronically adjust the rebound and compression damping for the fork and shock absorber. In the YRC menu, the suspension elements can be precisely adapted to the driving style or the route.
A-1 is a sporty mode. It provides a lot of confidence and good feedback, especially on winding roads and side roads, with a high degree of feeling for the front and rear wheels as well as good chassis stability when accelerating and braking.
A-2: Ideal for sporty driving on well-developed roads.
A-3: The mode for touring with the emphasis on ride comfort and stability.
The MT-10 SP also has an exclusive, three-piece front spoiler. It emphasizes the aggressive look of the flagship model and additionally protects the oil cooler.
The MT-10 SP has fabric-sheathed brake lines. They ensure fine control, a good pressure point and better performance when the brakes are stressed during track day and the temperature of the brake fluid in the line rises sharply.
The SP models always have exclusive colors and graphics. The "Icon Performance" color scheme of the new MT-10 SP is based on the color of the R1M super sports car.
Delivery to Yamaha's European partners will begin in mid-2022. The recommended retail price will be announced shortly.
