Holiday Knowledge 3: Bad luck and stupidity
Photo: Dietmar We're back! After a week of Alpine passes (at least three a day), the team of Motorradtest.de has arrived at their desk again. And we are happy to share our findings with you.
Knowledge 3: Everyone can have a bad day, that happens. But it gets difficult when bad luck and stupidity come together like me - then it's enough for two bad days ...
... and that's how it came to this: Somehow, during a break, I wasn't disliked the ground. Too sandy, not stable enough for the side stand. So a little further, side stand folded out and ... well, time for a Stephan sandwich. This consists of, seen from the bottom to the top: one layer driver's leg, above it a Ducati and finally the other leg. I lay there and thought (can you imagine). But the colleagues rushed in, first saved me and then the Duc: At the fall, the mirrors were broken off next to the hand guard. But thanks to many meters of Gaffa tape and the DIY qualities of
Markus and Volker (see photo above) I soon no longer lacked consideration.
Photo: Dietmar The opportunity for a bit of stupidity came two days later: in the hustle and bustle of an Italian gas station, it hit the wrong pillar and fueled diesel. Happiness in misfortune: Just in time, the tank keeper routinely provided the hose and canister. Probably, thanks to the misfortune of his customers, he has been driving a diesel for decades, for which he has never had to pay anything.
But the day was far from over: I was just dodging a pass on the battle line when I wanted to hit the second before the turn - and stepped into the void. The L-shaped shifter had probably suffered in the fall and broke off without further ado. Only the longer piece was on the place, which made the gear change extremely uncomfortable. Second appearance of Markus and Volker, who artfully remodeled the shift lever from a spoon (!).
Thank you guys, that was great again:
