Photos: Triumph The new Trident 660: More technology, more equipment and more driving pleasure
The successful Trident 660 model from TRIUMPH is getting a comprehensive update. The lively three-cylinder engine scores with a whopping plus of driver-oriented technology – among other things, cornering ABS, quickshifter and cruise control are now on board as standard. In addition, the further improved chassis provides even more agility and the elaborate new two-tone designs for an extra-cool appearance.
TRIUMPH Motorcycles is stepping up its 2025 model year, the Trident 660, which has won several tests: the only three-cylinder motorcycle in its class has been further improved in terms of the technology package, chassis and styling. The particularly good news for all Trident fans: Since the prices remain at almost the same level despite the upgrade, the top seller retains its extremely good price-performance ratio.
Attractive bike in attractive designs: two variants of the new Trident 660
The even more attractive mid-range bike combines thrilling triple performance with agile, confidence-inspiring handling and characteristic, modern retro styling. Combined with the British brand's extended, driver-focused technology package, renowned high quality and high-quality equipment, the new Trident 660 now offers its owners an even more compelling package and remarkably low operating costs.
In response to customer requests, the Trident 660 now has a host of new features that are groundbreaking in this class: cornering ABS and cornering traction control, TRIUMPH Quickshifter for clutchless upshifts and downshifts and cruise control are now standard. The combined TFT display with integrated "MyTriumph" Bluetooth connectivity system allows the rider to navigate arrows, as well as control smartphone and music. There are also three driving modes, including a new sport mode.
Paul Stroud, Chief Commercial Officer of TRIUMPH, said: "We launched the Trident in 2020, with a unique combination of exhilarating triple performance and distinct character, confidence-inspiring handling and unmistakable British styling. With its unrivalled total cost of ownership, it is very popular with riders of all ages and experience levels worldwide and has won several major awards since its launch. The introduction of these new technologies raises the bar even higher for this category. Building on the popularity of the bright colourway of our special edition, the Trident Triple Tribute, we now bring the bike in bold new designs in Cosmic Yellow, Cobalt Blue and Diablo Red, as well as the well-known and popular Jet Black. But the most important thing for our customers is, of course, that the Trident 660 makes every journey an exhilarating experience."
PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGE FOR THE TRIUMPH TRIPLE
The Trident's exhilarating performance is delivered by a very powerful three-cylinder engine that combines powerful low-rev torque with a strong mid-range and thrilling revving pleasure. More than 90 percent of the peak torque is delivered in the very wide range between 3,600 and 9,750 rpm. This gives the Trident rider the best of both worlds compared to a two- or four-cylinder engine, as the bike combines the characteristics of a two-cylinder – good torque and powerful mid-rev power – with the revving pleasure and power delivery of a four-cylinder engine. On top of that, the TRIUMPH driver gets the characteristically inspiring three-cylinder soundtrack.
The superbly balanced and easy-to-control power delivery at all speeds, combined with the well-tuned gearbox and TRIUMPH Shift Assist Quickshifter, ensures a virtually seamless, exhilarating experience every time you accelerate.
PRICES AND AVAILABILITY AT DEALERS
The new Trident 660 will go on sale in Germany from December 2024 at prices starting at 8,295 euros. This new model also offers a very attractive overall package – including long maintenance intervals of 16,000 km and a full 4-year manufacturer's warranty with no mileage limit as well as a 2-year mobility warranty.
