For racers, their suit is just as important as the motorcycle itself. The ProRace suit meets the highest sporting standards and offers maximum freedom of movement and safety features that are essential in racing. The new online configurator allows it to be customized to the ProRace Made-to-Measure: a customized racing suit according to customer requirements with extensive customization options and equipment options. The outfit is complemented by the Boots and Gloves ProRace.
The successful American motorcycle racer Nate Kern has been racing since 2002 and was able to test the one-piece in advance: "The ProRace suit makes a very strong visual impression, you just want to try it on immediately," says Kern. "With a variety of functional options, it offers important safety and comfort features. The Made-to-Measure version has an option that I've never seen before, including optional elbow grinder, kangaroo leather and more."
Lucy Glöckner has been an active motorcycle racer since the age of 10 and already wears her unique kind: "Everyone today wants their own individual suit, which is more recognizable. I was curious to see exactly how the adjustment process would work, because it is not so easy to measure yourself at first. However, the configurator is really very easy to use and my suit fits perfectly. The most important thing for me is the protectors – and the ProRace suit has the best."
The body-cut one-piece made of beef nappa leather offers a complete safety package in an uncompromising racing version. The protectors on the shoulders, hips, elbows and knees are tightly sewn. Interchangeable grinders with high-abrasion-resistant Velcro fasteners have also been processed at the knees. There are three alternatives to back protection. This highly sensitive area can be protected with the NP Pro back protector via the protector pocket on the back of the ProRace suit. Alternatively, the buckle protectors, the back protector and the back protector vest are also available here.
Especially under racing conditions, a high level of wearing comfort is indispensable in addition to safety. This is ensured by a number of stretch inserts in the ProRace suit, which guarantee an enormous degree of freedom of movement. The perforated leather surfaces on the arms, chest area and thighs as well as a 3D distance frame in the back area provide excellent ventilation and enable first-class air circulation in the suit. For added comfort, the ProRace suit is equipped with an aerodynamic back hump.
For an extra charge, the suit is available in a lighter and more resistant kangaroo leather. Personalization also includes the option to be decorated with individual logos or lettering from teams/sponsors or nicknames. A variety of BMW Motorrad lettering and type designations such as RR, S 1000 XR, BMW M logo etc. round off the pure race look of the ProRace Made-to-Measure suit down to the last detail. Thus, hardly a race suit wish remains unfulfilled and each specimen is unique.
In order to meet an individual understanding of comfort, various perforation options are available for ventilation. The additional protection (ribs and thighs, outside) can be selected as an option – these protectors can be used via configurator in two different versions, as standard foam or Vibram VPOD thermal foam. In addition, a chest protector can be integrated into the ProRace Made-to-Measure suit. On request, the aerodynamic back hump is equipped with a TrinkPak.
The customizable premium one-piece can be ordered via a configurator from the BMW contractual partner or online from the BMW Motorrad license partner. In addition to the Made-to-Measure version, the standard version is available in sizes 46 to 60 and in the colours black, white and red.
