Photos: Triumph TRIUMPH unveils new A2 version of the Street Triple 765
TRIUMPH Motorcycles is launching a new version of the extra-agile cult Street Triple motorcycle, which is specifically aimed at younger riders and A2 licence holders. The revised 765 cc three-cylinder engine now produces 70 kW instead of the familiar 88.3 kW in the new A2 variant of the Street Triple 765 R and can be throttled to an A2-compliant 35 kW with the restrictor kit available as an accessory. Since all other components of the new "Streety" are identical to its more powerful sister, maximum driving pleasure is guaranteed!
There is hardly a sporty naked bike in the mid-range that has such a loyal fan base as the Street Triple from TRIUMPH. This is not surprising, because all those who have driven the charismatic three-cylinder rave about the combination of a powerful and characterful drive with equally precise and light-footed handling. Or to put it another way: maximum riding fun is in the genes of this bike. The fan base of the "Streety" could now become even larger, because from August 2024 the sporty all-rounder will also be available at dealerships in a special version for holders of the A2 driving licence.
Maximum driving pleasure guaranteed: The Street Triple 765 R is now also available as an A2 version
The new Street Triple 765 R is identical to the well-known model of the same name except for the engine power. The new A2 version also has the 765 cc triple known from the Moto2™ World Championship, but due to the approval regulations, it only produces 70 kW instead of 88.3 kW. With the throttle kit available as an accessory, the power can easily be reduced to 35 kW at the TRIUMPH dealership, so that the new Street Triple can already be driven with an A2 licence. If the owner extends his driving licence to the A driving licence, the limiter can be removed quickly and easily, whereby the maximum power of 70 kW is available again.
"Many new motorcyclists can't wait to hit the ground running on a sporty naked bike with a strong look and high-quality components," explains Paul Stroud, Chief Commercial Officer at TRIUMPH. "Thanks to the A2-compliant version of our popular Street Triple 765 R, they don't have to wait long for it. This new bike is an ideal addition to our A2 portfolio and now offers motorcyclists with this licence class the performance, style, precise handling and signature sound of our Street Triple models."
The current Street Triple 765 R model was launched in 2023. Its engine features improvements developed as part of TRIUMPH's commitment to the Moto2™ World Championship, which have significantly improved performance, torque and responsiveness. With its aggressive design, improved ergonomics and top equipment, this latest generation of the Street Triple 765 quickly became a worldwide success for the traditional British brand.

IMPROVED ERGONOMICS
With its focused and confident riding position, the 765cc engine derived from the drive of the Moto2™ World Championship bikes, its characteristic "gullwing" swingarm and last, but not least, its particularly agile chassis, the Street Triple 765 R A2 is an exciting motorcycle for the A2 driving class. It offers the exhilarating setup of a naked performance motorcycle with a precise, predictable and confidence-inspiring ride. Good to know: A low seat is also available as an accessory, which allows riders without a guard size to stand securely by reducing the seat height by 28 mm (from 826 mm to 798 mm).
FIRST-CLASS EQUIPMENT
The high-quality components of the Street Triple 765 R include Brembo M4.32 4-piston radial monobloc calipers at the front and a Brembo single-piston floating caliper brake at the rear. In addition, there is a Showa 41 mm upside-down fork and a Showa monoshock shock absorber with reservoir on the rear wheel, both components are of course fully adjustable. The standard Continental ContiRoad tires offer the best grip in both wet and dry road conditions, making the Street Triple 765 R the ideal choice for year-round use for commuting or a sporty trip on country roads.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
All Street Triple fans benefit from a wealth of advanced technology that helps to make the most of the bike's capabilities and safety. With the standard, optimised cornering ABS and cornering traction control, the Street Triple 765 R delivers precise and highly controllable braking and acceleration behaviour at any lean angle. In addition, the wheelie control on the front wheel improves safety and is hardly noticeable to the rider. The four riding modes "Road", "Rain", "Sport" and "Rider" are available to control performance, which can be easily changed via the intuitive on-board menu and the TFT display.
TRIUMPH's standard Shift Assist ensures seamless upshifts and downshifts without clutch actuation. It is a valuable comfort plus in everyday life and also ideal for sporty road trips and use on the race track. In addition, TRIUMPH's Torque Assist clutch ensures low operating forces and progressive leverage. The result is a light and even feeling of operation as well as more comfort – especially in city traffic.
DYNAMICALLY FOCUSED DESIGN
The current Street Triple scores in all parts with a dynamic, clear and unmistakable naked bike design – including the characteristic double headlight with the integrated intake of the intake air and a sporty, steeply designed rear section. All areas convey a focused, forward-looking appearance of the bike. The dynamic appeal of the Street Triple is underlined by a compact silencer with its unmistakable TRIUMPH Triple soundtrack.
The Street Triple 765 R A2 variant will be available in the two color variants of the base model in the 2025 model year – an eye-catching Matt Baja Orange or the elegant Pure White. In the first paint variant, the tank, headlight housing and side panels are painted orange, while the front fender and radiator grilles are finished in matt black. The white version has accents in Baja Orange on the tank and other parts. The front fender and headlight housings are pure white, while the radiator cowls are in Storm Grey.
SPECIAL RANGE OF ACCESSORIES
Street Triple owners have the option to further customise their bike with more than 50 genuine TRIUMPH accessories. The range of parts available ranges from the iconic Fly Screen on the cockpit to comfort parts such as heated grips for the rider and comfortable grab handles for the pillion. In addition, there is a selection of tailor-made luggage parts. In short, there are accessories for every type of Street Triple rider!
