New motorcycle registrations November 2021

And yet 2021 was a normal year...

The current motorcycle sales figures of November 2021 are here. At first glance, these read frightening: In November 2021, only 3,382 motorcycles were sold. This is a whopping 42 percent less than in the same period last year. 

 

However, you have to remember that 2020 was a damn good year. The full year 2021 will probably be about 10 percent below 2020 - and is thus roughly at the level of 2019. So it's not quite as bad as the current figures from November initially suggest. However, this will only be a small consolation for retailers and manufacturers, because due to the ongoing corona pandemic, it is not foreseeable that sales will pick up again in the short term. We are therefore keeping our fingers crossed that as many retailers as possible will survive the pandemic!

 
There is a small trend in the market shares of the manufacturers: the market shares of the "other" manufacturers are increasing from year to year. This is partly due to Royal Enfield, but also to the many newer Chinese manufacturers such as Benelli, Fantic, Moto Morini, Zontes, Mondial, CF-Moto and Voge, which we have now included in our motorcycle database . Admittedly, the market share of these smaller manufacturers is still small, but in total it is already 14 percent - and rising.
