In 2022, the Wheels & Waves Festival in Biarritz in France is back and Honda is part of it.

• Honda presents 10 exciting and inspiring custom creations of the CMX500 Rebel and CMX1100 Rebel at the iconic motorcycle lifestyle event on the Atlantic coast. Bike builders from Spain, Portugal, Italy, France and Great Britain provide international flair.
• In line with this, the website will www.hondacustoms.com be set up in six languages, including fan voting and downloading free wallpapers for desktop and mobile.
• The most popular CMX Rebel custom bike of the online voting will be chosen in August.

For the return of the Wheels & Waves festival in Biarritz on the Atlantic coast from 30 June to 3 July 2022, Honda will be present and exhibiting at its stand the 10 best CMX Custom Rebels from bike builders from Spain, Portugal, Italy, France and the UK.

In particular, the CMX Rebel models from Honda invite you to rebuild, modify and individualize. To further celebrate the CMX jewelry on display by the professional finishers, they will be presented on the Honda Customs website for those who cannot be present in Biarritz.

Honda's www.hondacustoms.com website will be available in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. Users have the opportunity to like their favorites and can download wallpapers of their favorite bikes for desktop or mobile and share their choice via social media channels. After the votes have been counted, the winning bike will be announced at the end of August.

Motoveiga

Customizer: Motoveiga, Braga, Portugal

Portuguese Honda dealer Motoveiga has been inspired by the beauty of 16th-century Spanish armor and Florentine ornamentation to transform a CMX500 Rebel into a rolling work of art. The tank was elaborately hand-painted, as well as the side cover, rear fender, lamp trim and even the clutch cover. The silencer from Vance & Hines and a leather seat complete the overall picture.

Lucy

Customizer: Honda Garonda, Portugal

Lucy, the creation of the Honda Garonda agency, gracefully reflects the Portuguese sun. The gold-and-white color scheme with handmade Rebel logo on the tank is matched to the golden rims with whitewall tires. The inspiration was the classic Honda CB175 from the 70s. Lucy completes the rear suspension optimised with retrofit shock absorbers, a new grille and the exclusive Vance & Hines exhaust.

5Four Honda Rebel Street

Customizer: Guy Willison, 5Four Motorcycles, UK

Conversion specialist Guy Willison has already skilfully individualized the CB1100 RS and the CB1000R. Now he demonstrates what an "Urban Lightweight Street Flat Tracker" based on the CMX500 should look like. The 5Four shines with a CB750 tank in burgundy paint and the leather seat in ivory colors. Attractive details are handles made of Brazilian hardwood, start number front mask, flattrack rear and shock absorbers with additional container. The look is completed by spoke rims with wave brake discs, a metal mudguard with fork stabilizer, polished footrest mounts with gear and brake levers from HRC, the titanium exhaust from Racefit, a short-stroke throttle grip and handmade radiator side panels.

Mannboard

Customizer: MAAN, Motocicli Audaci, Italy/Sardinia

Sardinian custom build company Motocicli Audaci was inspired by sand track racers of the 1930s. The elaborately handmade spring fork, large 19-inch spoke wheels and the stainless steel exhaust system with SC-Project silencer catch the eye. Candy lacquer and gold leaf decorate the tank. Custom rear made of metal, high links and a single leather seat complete the look of the manboard creation.

Akaimoto

Customizer: Akaimoto, Barcelona, Spain

After great CB1000R and CB650R conversions, Honda dealer Akaimoto from Barcelona is one of the sounding names of the custom scene. The appearance of the CMX1100 Rebel has also been tackled with the support of design artist Chopinart. Inspiration came from retro sports bikes and Honda's Neo Sports Café range. The custom bike is characterized by a higher positioned tank and a grim matt black paint finish with gold applications. The look is completed by gold-coloured rims, an adapted Kalex front spoiler, clip-on handlebars and crisply capped silencers.

Mikuniguro

Customizer: Ikono Motorbike, Madrid, Spain

The CMX »Mikuniguro« originates from the collaboration of Nomade Cycles (a mix of café, bike and clothing store in Madrid) and paint specialist Dave Designs in Badajoz, Spain, and was implemented by the Madrilenian Honda dealer Ikono Motorbike. The work is named after the horse of fantasy samurai Tadakatsu, which is always unscathed during skirmishes. Inspiringly, this 500cc typical roasting style merges with Japanese bobber trends and features a color dress by Dave Designs, where the helmets for HRC riders Mark Marquéz and Pol Espargaró are also created and painted. A Vance & Hines silencer strengthens the look as well as the sound, and the wheel suspensions have been adapted to the balloon tires. Handlebar riser, rear end, micro-LED taillight as well as indicators and fork bellows round off the artistic creation.

Mallorca Moto

Customizer: Mallorca Moto, Mallorca, Spain

The appearance of the CMX1100 Rebel from Mallorca Motos is more than special. Selective green metallic foils on a matt black background radiate coolness and make the radiator grille, fenders, tank sculpture and the exhaust of a CB300R even more striking in a modified high-up position. The Neo Retro-inspired custom bike is completed by deep handlebar end mirrors, underseat taillight, fork guards, diamond-embroidered seat and the sporty inclined sitting posture.

The Sport

Customizer: FCR Original, Chauvigny, France

Highlight the practical and playful side of the Honda CMX Rebel, but at the same time make it sportier, more muscular and more dynamic – that was the intention of the custom construction company FCR Original. A modified swingarm allows the installation of Öhlins stereo dampers in combination with 17-inch rear wheel and 190cc Dunlop tyres. The front fender is an in-house creation and installed 25 mm lower. An extra-wide fatbar increases the leverage while the speedometer is placed on the upper triple clamp.
The bodywork impresses with a polyester-carbon self-made tank (with aluminium fuel cap), a seat with Alcantara cover and LED taillight. Handmade footpegs provide a racing feeling, while the black and bright red paint and numerous loving details are a subtle tribute to the classic Honda symbolism. The engine offers reliable standard technology, but breathes through an FCR original exhaust system made of stainless steel.

The Bobber

Customizer: FCR Original, Chauvigny, France

Inspired by the already beguiling design of the CMX1100 Rebel as standard, this interpretation conveys a cleverly refined custom feeling and works out pleasing bobber style elements. Swingarm and suspension remained standard, but are lowered by 25 mm, while specially made black spoke wheels flaunt fat Bridgestone wide tires.
Aluminium handlebars, striking leather seat, specially finished aluminium front fender and painted headlight surrounds provide bobber vibes. Mini-Bates FCR original LED turn signals are installed, which compliment the powerful lines. A polyester-carbon fuel tank – with a blue satin finish and aluminum fuel cap – adorns the bodywork. A ceramic-coated FCR original exhaust provides the finishing touch and underlines the mechanical beauty of the motorcycle.

Honda CMX Rebel Waves

Customizer: FCR Original, Chauvigny, France

As the third member of the CMX Custom family, FCR Original has rigorously revised the design of the CMX500, giving it a new, purposeful identity. Inspired by the feeling of the Wheels & Waves festival and typical casual California spirit, radical changes were made to the rear suspension, handlebars, turn signals, front mudguard, exhaust, fuel tank and luggage rack. The FCR original work is rounded off by a blue and white wave motif paint as well as the skateboard at the rear, which inevitably makes you smile – a feature that distinguishes every successful motorcycle – and this CMX Custom Honda even more!
