Photo: Honda Honda presents its new super-sports car for 2020: The CBR1000RR-R SP Fireblade is a completely newly developed motorcycle that has been optimized for racetrack use according to Honda specifications. It is therefore intended to provide an unprecedented level of performance and control.
The new in-line four-cylinder engine not only has the same drilling and stroke values as the Honda RC213V-S engine, but also uses its technologies in terms of combustion efficiency and friction alimony. In addition, the new Fireblade engine features titanium connecting rods and forged aluminium pistons. In addition, traction control has been further optimized and an adjustable launch control has been added to the existing control parameters for engine power, engine brake and wheel iecontrol. A Quickshifter is standard equipment.
The assistance system package works with a new six-axis inertia measurement unit, a new, three-stage electronic steering damper and a second-generation Öhlins Smart Electronic Control (S-EC) damping interface. The newly developed aluminium diamond frame now has a longer swingarm in the style of the RCV213V-S. New Brembo Stylema calipers in combination with 330 mm discs and a two-stage ABS ensure optimum braking performance.
In addition, the cladding has built-in winglets derived from honda MotoGP motorcycles to generate additional downforce. A full-colour TFT screen and a smart key system complete the complete package.
